PHP & Outpatient Programs in Northridge

Providing the Help You Need in Northridge

Miracles in Action's partial hospitalization and outpatient treatment programs are flexible, affordable, and provide excellent accountability in recovery.

Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP)

Partial Hospitalization Programs (also referred to as PHP) are designed to treat psychological disorders and substance abuse concurrently. In this program, our patients receive addiction and mental health treatment on an outpatient level while residing at home or in sober living. Patients in our Partial Hospitalization Program will attend our treatment center for 25-30 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

Patients are given biopsychosocial assessments by our highly educated and experienced clinical staff to determine their treatment goals and needs and to develop their individualized treatment plan. Treatment may include group therapy, individual therapy, life-skills support, psych-education to help patients better understand their illness/addiction, individual work, check-ins and assessments, and therapeutic intervention services based on the client’s needs. Our program is intended to avert relapse by giving the tools and important coping skills to fortify relapse prevention.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment Programs (IOP)

At Miracles in Action, our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program (also known as IOP) is a primary treatment program that is often clinically recommended for individuals who suffer from drug or alcohol addiction and co-occurring disorders, and who do not require detox or who have successfully completed a detox program. Our IOP enables individuals suffering from addiction and mental health to undergo the therapies required for long-term recovery on a part-time, yet intensive schedule. IOP scheduling is flexible and is tailored to best support a client’s career, school, parenting, and other life demands. We empower clients to truly live their lives in recovery. With flexible daytime or evening scheduling, our IOP takes place at our private and serene addiction treatment facility located in Northridge and meets three to five times per week. With such intensive outpatient programs, clients have the individualized attention of a therapist, as well as the support of others facing substance abuse/mental health issues.

Standard Outpatient Treatment Programs

Outpatient treatment plans vary in frequency, intensity, and duration, but a client-centered, evidence-based approach is core to our outpatient recovery programs. Our outpatient programs are designed to meet an individual wherever they are in the recovery process. When designing an outpatient treatment plan, our clinicians take many variables into account. These variables include substances used, length of sobriety, physical and mental health, work history and schedules, family relationships, and personal recovery needs and goals.

Our outpatient program treatment plan is adjusted as an individual meets important clinical milestones. Core treatment activities in our outpatient program include individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy, as well as wellness and other healthy activities that are tailored to individual needs.

Have Questions? We Have Answers
  • How does drug addiction treatment work?

Addiction affects everyone differently. As such, there is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to drug addiction treatment. Instead, the process begins with a personal assessment and evaluation. During this initial meeting, our drug addiction treatment specialists ask a series of questions designed to assess an individual’s level of addiction and recovery needs. Once the assessment is complete, our specialists recommend a personalized treatment program. This program may involve a combination of proven addiction treatments, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, group therapy, family therapy, stress management, and more. Most often, our patients begin by attending treatment several days a week at one of our facilities. As they progress through recovery, the number of times they need to visit the facility for treatment may gradually decrease.

  • If I go to rehab, will I have to live at the rehab facility?

Whether or not you will need to live full-time at a rehab facility will depend on the specific details of your situation. For those struggling with very severe substance use disorders, inpatient (or residential) treatment may be recommended. Others, however, may benefit from an outpatient (or non-residential) rehab program.

  • What is outpatient treatment?

Outpatient treatment simply means that you do not live full-time at the rehab facility where you receive addiction treatment services. Instead, you visit the facility several times a week for several hours at a time to attend therapy, take part in support group meetings, and receive other treatments specifically tailored to you and your recovery. You then return home to sleep and manage outside responsibilities, such as going to school, working, or taking care of your child. Our outpatient treatment programs include Drug & Alcohol Addiction recovery along with Mental Health Disorders.

  • How long does drug addiction treatment take?

The amount of time you will need to attend drug addiction treatment will depend on numerous factors, including the severity of your substance use disorder, whether or not you have a co-occurring mental or behavioral health condition, the amount of support you receive at home, your risk of relapse, and much more. Generally speaking, recovery is a lifelong process. At Miracles in Action, we provide ongoing support and comprehensive aftercare services to our patients. No matter where you are in your recovery, you can count on our team to be there for you every step of the way.
